Activator Method Technique
The activator method was designed by Dr. Arlan W. Fhur. His goal was to create an
instrument that produced predictable and reliable results. The Activator Method Technique utilizes specific procedures to detect spinal joint dysfunction, analyze leg length inequality, detect body mechanics problems, and test neurological reflexes.
Activator Method Instrument
Using an Activator, a unique hand-held instrument that was specifically engineered
to give a very specific, a "low force" adjustment can be given to patients in oder to treat misalignments. The Activator instrument delivers a controlled, light, and fast thrust, without causing undue strain to patients.
Activator adjustments are faster than a muscle's reflex, allowing for an easy and exact adjustment, with less muscle resistance. This allows a Activator doctor to restore normal function to a joint without having to "crack" it.
A misalignment or subluxation is the dysfunctional relationship of a spinal segment and the surrounding tissues (bones, joints and nerves). Left untreated a subluxated spine can lead to spinal degeneration and contribute to suboptimal health.
"A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health. A subluxation is evaluated, diagnosed, and managed through the use of chiropractic procedures based on the best available rational and empirical evidence."
